On May 15, at 1 am Beijing time, the Chinese space probe Tianwen-1 entered Mars orbit, and already at 7:18 am the descent module with the Zhurong rover successfully landed on the surface of the Red Planet. The whole process took just over 6 hours, but the simulation of the last hours of the flight fit into a video that was only 2 minutes long.

In fact, the descent module, after separation from the probe, went through six stages before successfully landing. Among them – maneuvering and avoiding obstacles, parachute descent, power reduction phase, 3D laser scanning of the terrain … Spiced with epic music, everything looks very exciting. The only pity is that there are no real shots.

Meanwhile, Zhurong is currently undergoing final checks before starting operations. At the same time, he successfully completed one of the first tasks: he sent a message to the popular Chinese social network Weibo.
