Social sustainability? They explain it to you here

“It is more difficult to become a good ancestor than a good parent or grandparent,” is the phrase that inspired the ReWriters fest 2023the festival created by Eugenia Romanelliwriter, journalist and cultural entrepreneur, as well as artistic director of the event: «The ReWriters fest», she explains, «is the on-life version of the digital network of rewriters.it which brings together tens of thousands of visionary people with the goal of changing the world.”

The appointment is in Rome, from 13 to 15 October: three intense days of meetings, debates, author interviews, exhibitions, theatrical readings, live music, photography, satire, book presentations, to explore the concept of social sustainability and rewrite the contemporary imagination together.

Among the many participants, the actresses Chiara Francini and Giorgia Surina, the journalists Giovanna Botteri and Francesca Barra, the French sociologist and afro-feminist Maboula Soumahoro, the political scientist Paolo Flores D’Arcais and musicians such as Marina Rei and Tosca, and then councilors, screenwriters, athletes and writers.

The themes covered are strong and current: from gender variance to the role of women as drivers of development, from the new frontiers of food to new forms of parenting, from bullying to the mental health of young people.

Great attention as always to the visual arts, with the awarding of the two Contest ReWriters: Daily Picdedicated to photography, edited by Luisa Briganti, director of the Ansel Adams Experimental Photography Center and Paolo Woods, two-time winner of the World Press Photo, and The cartoon of the dayedited by the illustrator Ginevra Diletta Tonini Masella and Vauro.

In the atrium there is also a live painting by Lucamaleonte, the only Italian together with StenLex and OrticaNoodle to be invited by Bansky to the Can Festival in London, and the exhibition of works created specifically for the festival by Marco Lodola and the Iranian artist Howtan Re, curated by the ReWriters Web Art Gallery, created in collaboration with Rory Cappelli, gallery owner of Crumb Gallery in Florence, the first Italian art gallery dedicated exclusively to female artists.
