Today, Thursday 21 July 2022, the final tables of beneficiaries-beneficiaries, providers of tourist accommodation and ferry tickets, as well as those excluded, of the social tourism program 2022-2023 of the Public Employment Service (DYPA) were posted at the online address: https://www. dypa.gov.gr/koinonikos-toyrismos?tab=koinonikos-toyrismos-2022-2023.
The final lists of beneficiaries concern 300,000 social tourism checks.
As stated in a related announcement, this year more than 532,000 applications for nearly 1 million checks were submitted, setting a record for expressions of interest, while more than 1,500 tourist accommodations have registered to participate.
The participation process is done by using the check, which is a unique number for each beneficiary and each beneficiary individually.
Beneficiaries-beneficiaries can spend up to six nights in a tourist accommodation they choose from the “Provider Register” of DYPA, after their direct consultation with the provider.
Especially, for accommodations in Leros, Lesvos, Chios, Kos and in the prefecture of Evros, up to 10 nights can be spent with zero private participation, while in the accommodations of the municipalities of Istiaea-Edipsos and Mantoudi-Limni-Ag. Annas of N. Evia and Samos can take place up to 12 nights completely free of charge.
According to the announcement, booking through other businesses, tourism offices, etc. is prohibited. Upon arrival at the tourist accommodation, the providers activate the social tourism vouchers electronically, through the electronic services (e-services) of DYPA.
The social tourism program will “run” during the period August 1, 2022-July 31, 2023. Its budget is 35 million euros, an amount increased by 5 million euros compared to the program of the period 2021-2022. As pointed out in the announcement, this is a particularly enhanced and attractive program this year, both for the beneficiaries and for the providers, as it is characterized by a reduced to zero private participation for the beneficiaries in the cost of the overnight stay in the tourist accommodation and increased subsidy prices for the providers .
This year’s increased subsidy prices apply to all categories of accommodation (5%-12% in hotels and 3%-8% in rooms for rent), in order to cover the increased costs and ensure a large participation.
In addition, for the peak month of August, a 20% increase in the subsidy is foreseen, just like last year, so that there is a greater participation of tourism businesses in this particular period. The increase will be valid for the whole year for the accommodations of North Evia and Samos. In addition to accommodation in tourist accommodation, ferry tickets are also subsidised. The participation of the general category of beneficiaries amounts to 25%, of those with many children to 20%. For the disabled, the ferry tickets are available free of charge.
For coastal ferry travel, the beneficiaries-beneficiaries print the social tourism check from the DYPA e-services and come to the travel agencies, or to the ticketing agencies, or to the providers’ electronic ticket offices, show their printed check and request the issuance of a social tourism ticket of the category to which they belong.
It should be noted that no supporting documents are required for any category, with the exception of the multi-child category. DYPA is not involved in the process of issuing a social tourism ferry ticket. Through a web service, the ticket is issued and the ferry social tourism voucher is activated for the journey and return. Ferry travel is only allowed for going/returning to/from the location of the selected tourist accommodation.
It is recalled that the beneficiaries of last year’s program who have not yet activated the checks can take a vacation until July 31, 2022.
The program will remain open for providers of tourist accommodation and ferry tickets who want to submit applications for participation from tomorrow, Friday 22 July 2022. Applications are submitted exclusively, through the Single Digital Portal of the Hellenic State gov.gr, with the TAXISnet access codes, if the provider only has a registered office or with the access codes of certified DYPA users, if the provider also has branches, at the online address: https://www.gov.gr/ipiresies/ergasia-kai-asphalise/apozemioseis-kai-parokhes/ parohoi-tourismou.
Specifically, the route is: Single Digital Portal gov.gr → Work and insurance → Compensation and Benefits → Social tourism providers.
