Sofia will join G7 efforts for long-term support to Ukraine’s security

The Cabinet in Sofia today adopted a decision approving her participation Bulgaria in the efforts of its countries G7of the Group of Seven most developed countries on the planet, to provide long-term security support to the Ukraineaccording to a joint statement.

The joint declaration in support of Ukraine was announced on July 12 at the NATO summit in Vilnius on behalf of the G7 countries – Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Britain and the United States – as well as by the presidents of the European Council and of the European Union. Belgium, the Czech Republic, Greece, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Spain and Sweden subsequently joined the declaration of support and the list continues to grow.

Bulgaria provides political and practical support to Ukraine. Therefore, as relayed by the Athens News Agency, directly disagreeing with the Russian attack, Bulgaria contributes to the protection of the freedom, security and sovereignty of all member countries of Europe. In accordance with this consistent policy, Bulgaria will join the joint declaration of the G7 countries in support of Ukraine, the Government Intelligence Service announced.
