Accusations of training PKK members in Lavrio were launched again by the Minister of the Interior of Turkey Suleiman Soylu, despite the repeated denials made by Athens.
In particular, as reported by SKAI, this time the Turkish minister included both Germany and the USA as countries that support “terrorists”.
“Unfortunately, Greece again activated the Lavrio camp, there is also Germany… And despite this phase, and even though this period is the one when Europe and the US support the PKK the most, in the fight against terrorism we are in our most successful period” argued Suleiman Soylu.
The Turkish minister made essentially the same statements in June, saying that “the Lavrio camp (…) has been mobilizing again in favor of the PKK terrorist organization for about 7-8 months”, to be followed by a categorical denial by Greek diplomats sources.
The Greek side rejects them as a whole as they are unfounded and untrue, they noted at the time in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, underlining that the country fully implements the decisions of the European Union to combat terrorism.
