The Devnet Solana test network has deployed version 1.18.11 of a solution that will help cope with network congestion and an increase in the number of network errors, says the project team. The update is not yet available on the Solana mainnet, which gives developers time and opportunity to test the new features. Validators are asked to update to the new version, analyze the impact of proposed fixes, and provide feedback before the solution is fully deployed.
With the release of a new major update, the Solana blockchain will be able to overcome problems associated with overload and operational failures for a long time, the developers believe. The update includes optimized package management, improved BankingStage filtering, a FailedVerification fix, and other critical fixes.
Previously, Fantom Foundation co-founder Andre Cronje said that the existing problems with network performance are caused solely by technical difficulties, and not by errors in consensus or any other critical element of the Solana blockchain.
At the beginning of the week, the Solana development team warned that the launch of new projects would be suspended while technical problems with the network were resolved.
