The error concerned the evidence program ZK Elgamal and theoretically affected confidential tokens released under the TOKEN-2022 program.
The bug consisted in the fact that some algebraic components were not included in the hash when converting Fiat Shamami. An experienced attacker could use a vulnerability to create fake evidence. This allowed him to perform unauthorized actions, including the release of an unlimited number of coins and withdrawing them from any account.
Experts discovered an error on April 16 and the very next day they began to spread a patch to eliminate it. To solve a similar problem in another area of the code base, a second correction was needed. Most NOD operators made the necessary changes in the evening on the evening of April 18.
