Soldier Rodrigo Gondim do Nascimento Amorim, 32, had the confirmed brain death by the Military Police of Minas Gerais (PMMG) on the night of Thursday (20). He had been hospitalized in serious condition since March 18 after having an accident with the corporation’s car on BR-135, Curvelo municipality (MG).
According to the Military Police, at the time of the accident it rained a lot and there was accumulation of water on the track. The car, which was piloted by Gondim, even overturned and stopped against the road.
In the car was also a PM sergeant who had minor injuries and was released from the hospital the same day. Gondin was urgently rescued to the Immaculate Conception Hospital with very serious and unconscious injuries.
On March 19, the PM sent a note stating that the soldier was still in serious condition, was breathing by devices and would undergo examinations to find possible brain death.
The PM sympathized with the death of the soldier by means of a note.
“With great sadness we sympathize with family, friends and uniformed companions at this time of irreparable loss. SD Gondim has always stood out for their dedication to mission and commitment to public safety, leaving a legacy of honor and bravery.”
