Solidly decentralized exchange users complain about missing funds

The creator of the popular DeFi project Yearn.Finance launched the decentralized exchange Solidly on February 24, but users of the site complain about the loss of funds during the exchange.

As a user under the pseudonym NiQlaus wrote, he exchanged FTM tokens for RDL through Solidly decentralized exchange, but received only 0.01% of the expected funds. After analyzing it, NiQlaus suggested that the protocol chose the sAMM-WFTM/RDL stable pool over the dynamic pool of the same name.

Since there was practically no liquidity on the stable pool, the user was unable to receive his funds. At the same time, NiQlaus emphasized, there were no warnings in the interface. He suggested that the user interface (UI) passed incorrect data to the smart contract.

Andre Cronje replied that, in his opinion, there are no problems in the work of the exchange. He believes that the user accidentally selected an illiquid pool and therefore lost funds. At the same time, the developer shared screenshots of the code, in which he emphasized that there are no sum calculations and everything that is shown in the UI is transferred to the smart contract. At the same time, Cronje admitted that the developers have already received several such messages.

“The main reason for using a stable pool instead of a variable could be that one of the RPC procedure calls either returned nothing or returned 0,” Cronje wrote.

NiQlaus user acknowledged that there were UI or RPC related errors while making the transaction. However, he would never sign the transaction if there was a warning about the loss of 99% of the funds. He emphasized that he is far from new to cryptocurrencies. Later in the same GitHub thread, another user posted a message that exchanged $24,000 USDC for FTM tokens, but received only $600 in FTM.

Recall that in September 2020, Cronje launched the Eminence gaming protocol, but a critical vulnerability was discovered in it and investors lost $15 million.
