Solz rejects lifting restrictions on use of Western weapons by Ukraine’s armed forces

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz rejected Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s request to lift all restrictions on the use of weapons supplied by Western allies to his country’s armed forces in the war with Russia. “No one is planning to change previous measures and guidelines — and there are good reasons,” Mr. Soltz said during a news conference after the NATO summit in Washington. “It remains our duty to guarantee that we provide maximum support to Ukraine but prevent escalation into a Russia-NATO war.
