Some of the nearly 7,500 immigrants who were arrested under the second term of US President Donald Trump were released, according to two sources.
The detainees were being monitored by a program known as Alternatives for Detent, the source added.
The US immigration and customs service can track them in many ways, including anklets and electronic bracelets or by telephone calls.
It is not yet known how many of the nearly 7,500 prisoners due to the operation of Donald Trump’s government were released.
One of the main reasons for liberation is the lack of space for prison. Trump’s nominee to control illegal immigration, Tom Homan, has repeatedly requested from Congress additional financing to build more detention centers, which he claims to need to arrest the number of immigrants without regular documentation.
Donald Trump has announced plans in recent weeks to increase the detention space in Guantanamo Bay for capacity of up to 30,000 people.
US Marines have reached the naval base to start building. The Secretary of Internal Security, Kristi Noem, said that “it is not the plan” to keep immigrants there indefinitely.
THE CNN contacted the US immigration and customs service.
