Some iOS users from Russia do not download applications over the mobile Internet. Apple has no problem

Today, September 13, some users of Apple technology in Russia began to actively complain that the digital App Store does not work for them. For example, they cannot download applications or update them when using the Internet from mobile operators – at the moment, the problem is observed among users of mobile operators Rostelecom, MegaFon, MTS and Yota. At the same time, Apple representatives officially announced that there were no changes on their side and, accordingly, no problems were observed. Many users on social networks decided that the problem was the recent blocking of Roskomnadzor.

Clients in Moscow @Beeline_RUS and @megafonru complain about the inability to update applications from the App Store. It is also impossible to download them from there on mobile networks.

I checked it – really. You turn on the VPN: it is updated and downloaded. You turn it off – everything stops.

The fact is that the same users who cannot download software from the App Store over the cellular network manage to do this with the VPN turned on – in this case, the applications are easily downloaded and updated. Perhaps there was some kind of failure in the process of blocking popular VPN services, or a channel associated with the App Store was blocked. Unfortunately, so far there is no exact information on this matter – the representatives of cellular operators themselves do not comment on the situation, as well as the employees of Roskomnadzor.
