A man was arrested on suspicion of stabbing his mother to death in Salvador. Although the crime was committed last Saturday (20), it was only this Monday (22) that he confessed to having cut off the victim's hand to make bank withdrawals using her fingerprint.
According to the Civil Police of Bahia, the suspect underwent a custody hearing and had his arrest converted into preventative arrest.
The woman was identified as Sandra Maria dos Santos Carvalho, 58 years old, and the crime was committed at her home, in the Valéria neighborhood. According to the police, the victim's hand was found next to the body that was taken to the IML. Expert reports will complete the investigations.
Regarding the boy going to the bank to make transactions with his mother's account, the Court did not provide details and the Civil Police did not provide further details.
The investigation is ongoing and the case is investigated by the Department of Homicide and Personal Protection (DHPP).
