A 49-year-old man identified as Sérgio da Veiga died after being shot in the head by his own son. According to investigations, Sérgio was drunk and had attacked his wife with a knife. The son then shot his father to defend his mother.
The case occurred last Saturday (30) in Francisco Beltrão (PR), a city located 471 kilometers from Curitiba.
According to the delegate responsible for the case, Júlio Suñé Ferreira Pires, Sérgio was carrying two knives and ran towards the woman to hit her.
The son asked the man to stop his behavior, but when he didn’t comply, he fired a gunshot that hit him in the head.
According to the police, the perpetrator fled the scene and has not yet been located, but witnesses were interviewed, including Sérgio’s own companion, who confirmed the story.
The suspect will be interviewed and investigations continue to clarify the circumstances of the crime.
