Sony today revealed the first official details of the next generation PlayStation VR headset for the PlayStation 5.
Let’s say right away that there is no hope for an early release. Senior Vice President, Platform Planning and Management, Hideaki Nishino, made it clear:
The new virtual reality system is still under development, so you shouldn’t expect it in 2021. But we wanted to share this news with our fans as the developer community is already creating new worlds that you can explore in virtual reality. ”
So far, the announcement is rather short, without images of the device and with meager details. Nevertheless, one should not despair at all, the top manager promised “soon” to fully present the next generation virtual reality system for the PlayStation 5.
As the company promises, the new PlayStation VR will be able to:
provide players with a more exciting experience and make a huge leap forward in terms of performance and interactivity. Players will be able to experience a new level of immersion in gaming worlds as soon as they put on this headset. ”
Compared to PS VR, PS4 will improve “every aspect of the game, from resolution and field of view to motion tracking and controls.” The system will connect to the PS5 with a single cable, which will simplify setup and improve usability, while improving picture quality.
Along with the system, a new VR controller will be available that supports some of the important features of the DualSense wireless controller and features “improved ergonomics.”
