Sony has confirmed that the PlayStation 4 will soon lose one of its features.
Messages about the deactivation of the PlayStation Communities application appeared a couple of weeks ago, when the beta version of the 8.50 system software for PlayStation 4 game consoles became available. The PlayStation Communities application allowed you to communicate with your gamer friends from your smartphone.
The PlayStation support page now has a message about the PlayStation Communities app for PS4 consoles with “Important Notices for PlayStation Products and Services”:
Thank you for using the PS Communities app on your PS4 console. As of April 2021, this app will no longer be supported and will no longer be available on your PS4 console. However, you can still stay connected and enjoy messaging and more on PS4 and the PlayStation App. ”
