Sony has finally revealed what its PlayStation VR2 virtual reality headset looks like. Recall that the company has already announced the headset twice before, but the first time the announcement was nominal, and the second time they revealed the parameters to us, but did not show the device.

As you can see, the novelty differs significantly from the current model. The new headset looks more minimalist and smaller. It connects to the console with a single USB-C cable.

Our goal is to create a headset that not only becomes an eye-catching part of your living room decor, but also allows you to immerse yourself in the game world to the point where you almost forget you are using a headset or controller. That’s why we’ve paid very close attention to the ergonomics of the headset and conducted extensive testing to ensure it fits people with different head sizes. We already had a lot of positive feedback on the ergonomics of the first PS VR headset with the careful balancing of the weight of the headset and the simple adjustable headband, so we kept the same concept for the PS VR2 headset.

As a reminder, the PS VR2 headset provides 4K HDR resolution and a 110° viewing angle. OLED screens have a resolution of 2000 x 2040 pixels each, and also support image refresh rates of 90 and 120 Hz.
