Sony has announced the launch of the long-awaited innovation for its PlayStation Now cloud gaming service. PlayStation Now will support 1080p streaming this week.
Until now, PlayStation Now users have only been able to access games in 720p quality. The PlayStation team noted that the distribution of the new feature will gradually take place over the next few weeks in Europe, the United States, Canada and Japan, where PlayStation Now is available.
However, the exact list of games that will be available at a higher resolution in PlayStation Now has not yet been announced. Note that rival service, Google Stadia, can reach 4K resolution, and Microsoft is currently testing 1080p on Xbox Cloud Gaming (xCloud).
