Sony has begun rolling out a software update based on the latest Android 11 operating system for two more of its smartphones, the Xperia 5 and Xperia 1.
Both the Xperia 5 and Xperia 1 models debuted in 2019 and originally ran Android 9 Pie. They received an update to Android 10 last year in March along with several new features.
In December, Sony was supposed to release Android 11 for its flagships last year, the Xperia 1 II and Xperia 5 II, but in reality this only happened for the Xperia 1 II.
Now it’s time for two-year-olds. The update for Xperia 5 and Xperia 1 has already started rolling out in many regions, including Russia. The update also brings the December 2020 Android security update.
