Sony World Photography, the winning photos. Italy awarded with Giannetti

The World Photography Organization, a global photography platform, has announced the winners of the category National dei Sony World Photography Awards 2021. The National Awards program is an initiative established by the World Photography Organization and Sony to support local photographic communities around the world.

This year the participants come from 50 different countries, some very different from each other. Including Argentina, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, France, Russia, Turkey and many more.

Italy was awarded with Davide Giannetti and his image depicting a fox hidden among some blades of grass in the foreground.

“After a heavy rain that hit the Abruzzo National Park, I spotted this wild red fox looking for food,” explained the photographer.

The winners were selected from 330,000 images from 220 territories that were submitted to the Sony World Photography Awards 2021. Over 165,000 were entered in the Open competition, from which the winner of the National Awards was selected.

The overall winners of the 2021 Sony World Photography Awards Student, Youth, Open and Professional competition will be announced on April 15, 2021 via the digital and video platforms of the World Photography Organization.

For 2020, the year in which Italy was in first place for the number of applications, the exhibition dedicated to the winners of Sony World Photography Awards has transformed into an online exhibition, available until March at this link. For the first time in 4 years, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the exhibition was not held in Italy.
