South Korea: 45 deaths and over 3,700 cases of coronavirus in 24 hours

South Korean health officials announced today that as of midnight Thursday, 3,717 cases of SARS-CoV-2 had been confirmed and 45 patients had died due to complications of COVID-19.

The pandemic count of the new coronavirus in the country of Southeast Asia has reached 5,932 deaths since January 2020 to a total of 657,508 infections, according to data from the Korea’s Disease Control and Prevention Service (KDCA). The mortality rate remained unchanged at 0.90%.

The cases increased compared to the previous one (4,125).

The number of patients admitted to hospitals in critical condition decreased to 839 (-43 in 24 hours).

86.4% (44.21 million out of 52 million of the total population) have received the first dose of vaccine, 83.5% (42.84 million) have been fully vaccinated, while 39.1% % (20.05 million) has now received the third, booster dose, according to KDCA data.
