THE South Korea announced today that 488 cases of SARS-CoV-2 were confirmed as of midnight yesterday Thursday, with the total number of people infected with the new coronavirus in the Asian country reaching 94,686.
The number of infections increased from 465 of the previous one and remained above 400 for the fourth day. 138 were located in Seoul and another 157 in Kyeonggi Province, which surrounds the metropolitan area of the South Korean capital, reports AMPE.
At the same time, 10 patients with COVID-19 succumbed, with the pandemic toll reaching 1,662 deaths by this stage. The mortality rate remains at 1.76%.
Since the start of the immunization campaign in South Korea on February 26, 546,277 people have received the first dose of the vaccine.
