South Korea: North Korea again sends up balloons carrying garbage

North Korea has resumed sending balloons carrying debris to South Korea, according to officials in Seoul. A week ago, Pyongyang pledged to temporarily halt their shipment, but warned it would resume if it detected propaganda leaflets from the South. Dozens of balloons carrying garbage were found overnight in both Seoul and areas near the border, with a South Korean military spokesman confirming they came from North Korea. He emphasized that the armed forces are on alert, since they are treating the issue “very seriously”. Seoul has warned it will retaliate over North Korea’s waste balloon shipment.
