South Korean authorities told Do Kwon to surrender his passport of a citizen of the country

The threat of the South Korean Foreign Ministry to deprive the citizenship of the co-founder of the collapsed cryptocurrency project Terra is put into action – the department decided to hand over the passport within 14 days.

The document, posted on the Foreign Ministry’s website, says that if Do Kwon does not hand over his passport to the South Korean authorities on time, his identity card will be revoked. Accordingly, Kwon will not be able to use it both inside Korea and for flights abroad. The agency also reserved the right to reject applications for reissuing a passport until September 13, 2023.

The whereabouts of the former CEO of Terra are still unknown. Presumably Do Kwon is in Singapore. Previously, the South Korean authorities said that Kwon went on the run, although the Terra co-founder himself spoke of cooperation with law enforcement agencies. Given the arrest warrant for Kwon issued by the South Korean prosecutor’s office, it is not surprising that he decided to leave the country.

Earlier, blogger and YouTube channel owner Bitboy Crypto said that Do Kwon is actually “not such a bad guy” and, for example, Celsius founder Alex Mashinsky is much worse.
