South Korean boy band BTS will return to the United States for a series of concerts in Las Vegas in April, their agency said on Wednesday.
The concerts, part of the “Permission to Dance on Stage” tour that was put on hold by the coronavirus pandemic, will take place on April 8 and 9 and April 15 and 16, with the final show broadcast live, agency Bit Hit Music said.
Since their debut in 2013, BTS has been leading a global craze for K-pop with catchy, upbeat songs and dances, as well as lyrics and social campaigns aimed at empowering young people, many of whom have built massive fanbases online.
The group played their first in-person concerts since the start of the pandemic in November in Los Angeles, and last week announced they would play their first concerts for their fans in Korea, with three concerts in the capital, Seoul, next month.
On Tuesday, Big Hit said that V, the singer-songwriter for the band whose real name is Kim Tae-hyung, had recovered from a coronavirus infection.
He was the fifth member of the band to contract Covid-19, including three who tested positive in December shortly after his return from US shows.
With the spread of the pandemic in 2020, the band postponed and then canceled what was intended to be their biggest international tour involving nearly 40 shows. Instead, they did some shows online.
