Climatempo meteorologist Carine Gama said that a cold front has already brought rain to several areas of the state of São Paulo.
In an interview with CNN Radio she explained that a second cold front will advance through the country, combined with a mass of polar air that “will hit the South region with greater intensity, bringing temperatures below 0 degrees from the dawn of Saturday (11).”
“In the Southeast and Midwest, especially São Paulo, Mato Grosso do Sul and the south of Minas Gerais, we should have a sharp drop in temperatures, but without a record, since the lowest were recorded in May,” he added.
Between Thursday and Friday, the risk of storms gains strength in São Paulo, with conditions for thunderstorms for the entire state.
The “situation is worrying” in the Northeast, according to Carine Gama: “From Thursday, Pernambuco, Alagoas and Sergipe may have rains exceeding 40 millimeters until Saturday.”
In recent weeks, Pernambuco suffered from heavy rains in the state, which left 129 dead.
The meteorologist also informed that the weather forecast predicts two to three waves of intense cold during the entire inverse.
