The cult animated series South Park has been extended for another six seasons, up to the 30th. Series creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have signed an agreement with ViacomCBS to run the show through at least 30 seasons. At the moment, work is underway on the 24th season.
In addition, the agreement implies the release of 14 full-length animated films! Considering that the agreement was signed before 2027, apparently, all 14 paintings should be released within this period. It is known for sure that the first one will be released this year.
All new seasons of the series and new films will be exclusive to the streaming service Paramount +. And this agreement cost its owners – CBS – $ 900 million. And this is one of the largest deals in the history of the television market.
It is also known that Parker and Stone are working on a new game in the South Park universe and will create some completely new content for ViacomCBS, not related to South Park.
At the moment, this animated series is second only to the duration of The Simpsons, which have already exchanged 32 seasons.
