O Social development is one of the main themes of the last day of 3rd edition of South Summit Brazil 2024 , which takes place this Friday (22), in Porto Alegre. Among the highlights of the day was the launch of the first bank aimed at residents of Brazilian favelas.
In a lecture, Celso Athayde CEO of CUFA (Central Única das Favelas), announced that he intends to launch the FBank , a bank made by and for favela residents. This is an innovation for communities, whose objective is to democratize access to financial education, banking and investments.
In Athayde's view, many of the terms used in the world of finance are not yet known to the general public and the bank's idea is, precisely, to democratize access to these terms and to finance in favelas.
Another highlight of the event is the talk by Luana Ozemela vice president of social impact at iFood, who will discuss how companies can increasingly invest in social impact, such as education and improving working conditions, to increase well-being, productivity and economic growth.
This is the third time that the South Summit, one of the biggest technology events in the world, takes place in Brazil. The third edition began on Wednesday (20) and ends this Friday. The event brought together speakers, entrepreneurs, companies, start-ups and investment funds from more than 50 countries.
