Two cold fronts will hit Brazil this week, bringing isolated showers and low temperatures, according to Climatempo meteorologist Maria Clara Sassaki.
In an interview with CNN Radio she stated that the Southern Region may have “frozen rain and even snow”.
“This frozen rain leaves the cloud in the form of droplets and encounters a cold, chilled atmosphere, then freezes midway and falls in the form of pebbles,” he explained.
At the beginning of the week, on the other hand, the Southeast region will have firm weather until Wednesday (17), with high temperatures, until the arrival of the cold front.
“On Thursday, rain is forecast in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and the southern half of Minas Gerais.”
Northeast Region
The coastal region, especially in Sergipe, Alagoas and Pernambuco, still because of the cold front last week, will have heavy rains, “with an incidence of the East Waves phenomenon, with the possibility of disruption throughout the coast.”
Midwest region
The rain should not arrive, according to Maria Clara Sassaki, in the Federal District and in the Midwest as a whole.
“If it rains, it will be isolated,” he added.
North region
Amapá, Roraima, northern Amazonas and Pará are areas where rain “can come from moderate to heavy, alternating with periods of firmer weather”.
