Southern Brazil should see a peak temperature drop between Thursday and Friday; see minimum

A mass of cold air of polar origin will cause the first cold wave of autumn in central-southern Brazil, in which the southern region of the country will be the most affected, with the possibility of frost in the highest areas of the mountains. The drop may also be felt in some states in the southeast region and in Mato Grosso do Sul.

The polar mass will have the coldest days in the South and Southeast areas of Brazil this Thursday (18) and Friday (19), and during the early hours and dawn of this Saturday (20). Cold air begins to move away from the country towards the ocean on Saturday afternoon, causing temperatures to rise.

The cold remains in the early hours of Sunday (21), but the afternoon should be warm.

The cities of Porto Alegre, Florianópolis and Curitiba, in the south region, and São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte and Vitória, in the southeast, in addition to Campo Grande, capital of Mato Grosso do Sul, may record the lowest temperatures of the year with the dough.
