The programming of 48th International Film Festival in São Paulo will include three film screenings accompanied by musical performances. Titled Cinema-Concert these sessions arrive in Brazil for the first time during the event.
Presentations will take place at Great Othello Room located at the Cinemateca Brasileira, during screenings of the Portuguese director’s films Rodrigo Areias which are included in the program of the 48th Mostra. Each of these screenings will feature live music, performed by the composers of the original soundtracks.
The musical sessions begin with “The Stone Dreams of Flowering “, on the day October 20th at 8:35 pm, with a live soundtrack by Dada Garbeck . The film, based on the work of the Portuguese writer Raul Brandão tells the story of the writer K. Maurício, which goes into depth in the book “A Morte do Palhaço”.
On Monday (21), “The Worst Man in London “, with a musical performance by Samuel Martins Coelho on the violin. The film follows Charles Augustus Howell, an art dealer in Victorian London, who also manages great artists, works as a secret agent and is known as a master of blackmail.
The last Cine-Concert will take place on Tuesday (22), with the screening of the film “Mute ” and musical performance by Tó Trips on guitar. The film takes place in a rural area, where a man discovers that his deceased wife was seen shopping at the market. Angry and sad, he wants to isolate himself, but his friends encourage him not to listen to the rumors.
Tickets
The São Paulo International Film Festival 2024 packages available offer 40 tickets for R$410 . Viewers can freely choose films and sessions, with no restrictions on the cinemas participating in the event.
The main package the Full Permanent, allows access to all event sessions, on any day and time, for R$600 . There is also a specific package for afternoon sessions, at limited times, costing R$ 150, which entitles viewers to watch films from Monday to Friday, until 5:55 pm.
For those who prefer individual sessions, tickets cost R$24 (full) and R$12 (half) from Monday to Thursday, while on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays the prices are R$30 (full) and R$15 (half) .
