THE 48th edition of the São Paulo International Film Festival will feature screenings of the unprecedented “Winter Sun “, a Japanese feature film that made its debut on Cannes Film Festival 2024 . The exhibition takes place in cinemas in the capital of São Paulo until October 30th.
Directed by Hiroshi Okuyama (“Makanai: Cooking for the Maiko House”), the production tells the story of a 9-year-old boy who moves with his family from Tokyo to a rural area of Japan. With the end of winter, the hockey season shakes up the local boys, but Takuya is more interested in the ice skating rink.
It is in this space that Sakura performs her choreographies, under the guidance of former champion Hisashi Arakawa. Fascinated by the girl and the sport, Takuya requests the chance to train, and the instructor realizes the possibility of creating a pair for competitions.
