S&P 500 Futures Maintain Losses Despite President Trump’s Comments About Introducing a “Vaccine in the Next Weeks”

Futures linked to S&P 500, the Wall Street Stock Index, continue to trade in the red despite President Donald Trump saying during the second presidential debate that a coronavirus vaccine in coming weeks.

Futures are trading at 3,443 at press time, representing a 0.15% drop on the day.

While Trump insisted that Covid-19 would soon disappear through medical advances, Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden criticized Trump’s handling of the coronavirus crisis and he said the man responsible for 220,000 American deaths should not remain president of the United States.

Today Friday, Biden continues to lead the polls. The market for bonds The US election is stepping up on expectations that the Democratic candidate would unleash massive stimulus and Congress would pass additional fiscal stimulus ahead of the November 3 election.
