The main Wall Street indices they opened near Thursday’s closing levels on Friday amid the variable performances of the main sectors. At time of writing, the S&P 500 Index, which posted a new high of 4,466, was flat on the day at 4,462. Additionally, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.2% to 35,575 and the Nasdaq Composite Index posted small daily losses at 14,800.
As crude oil prices failed to take advantage of the recovery seen earlier in the week, the energy index is losing 0.4% after the opening bell. On the other hand, the Communication Services Index is the best performer on Friday, gaining 0.33%.
