S&P 500 opens sharply higher above 3,600 on news of coronavirus vaccine

The Major US Stock Indices have started the first day of the week in positive territory as investors celebrate the latest news on the coronavirus vaccine. At time of writing, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 1.2% on the day at 29,833, the S&P 500 is up 0.7% at 3,610, and the Nasdaq Composite is up 0.4% at 11,983.
