A child is the new victim of the heavy rains that hit São Paulo. The state government confirmed this Sunday (26), the death of a 7-year-old boy who fell into a gallery and had his body found in Itapecerica da Serra in Greater São Paulo.
In 2025 alone, there have been three deaths so far, according to Civil Defense. According to the organization, with this Sunday’s death, This is the 17th death recorded in Operation Chuvas 2024/2025 since December 1st.
According to authorities, the child was playing in Parque Municipal do Povo, when he was swept away by water into a storm drain during heavy rain on Sunday afternoon. Fire Department teams began the search immediately.
The child’s body disappeared around 4pm and was located at 8:28pm .
São Paulo is on alert for the risk of more incidents due to the volume of rain predicted for the next few days.
Death in Guarulhos
A motorcyclist, who disappeared in Guarulhos last Saturday (25) due to the heavy rains that hit the region, was found dead in the Cumbica neighborhood, this Sunday afternoon.
