SP City Hall suspends rotation due to bus stoppage

São Paulo City Hall suspended the municipal vehicle rotation this Tuesday (21), due to the stoppage at bus terminals in the city. The measure covers cars and trucks and the suspension applies to the two peaks of the day – morning (7am to 10am) and afternoon (5pm to 8pm). Other existing restrictions in the city are maintained.

Terminal shutdown

Eight bus terminals in the city of São Paulo had their operations affected by a strike this Tuesday morning (21). SPTrans informs that operations gradually began to normalize from 10:35 am.

According to the São Paulo Bus Drivers and Bus Collectors Union, the strike is motivated by a protest by opposition groups in the entity, which is in the middle of a presidential election.

According to SPTrans, the João Dias, Campo Limpo, Capelinha, Parque D. Pedro II, Pinheiros, Santana, Santo Amaro and Vila Nova Cachoeirinha terminals had their exits blocked. The company says it will file a police report to hold people responsible for preventing vehicles from leaving.

Four candidates participate in the election in the union. According to the current leadership, the three opposition panels are “wanting to create confusion” for the vote. The entity’s management accuses the opposition of even trying to take legal action to prevent the election.
