The Palácio dos Bandeirantes, seat of the government of the state of São Paulo, was illuminated with the colors of the flag of Rio Grande do Sul this week. The action was a way of paying homage to the population of Rio Grande do Sul, which suffers from the heavy rains that hit the state.
On Monday (6), São Paulo sent the first batch of donations to Rio Grande do Sul. Around 13 tons of supplies, such as drinking water, mattresses and blankets were sent to help victims in the region.
In addition, 25 antennas for satellite internet connection and nine electricity generators were also sent across São Paulo to assist in reestablishing communication and supplying electricity in the most affected areas.
The São Paulo Social Fund (FUSSP) and Civil Defense continue to receive donations. Right now, items like drinking water and cleaning and hygiene products are top priorities. For now, food, shoes and clothes are not being received.
For donors, the materials must be delivered to the FUSSP warehouse, located at Avenida Marechal Mário Guedes, 301, in the Jaguaré neighborhood, in the north zone, from 8 am to 5 pm and also at the Poupatempo and Sabesp units.
