After days of drought, dry weather and intense heat, a cold front should approach and change the weather in São Paulo, according to the Climate Emergency Management Center (CGE) of the São Paulo City Hall.
São Paulo residents will begin to feel the effects of the phenomenon this Thursday afternoon (24), when wind gusts of up to 50 km/h are expected to hit the city.
On Friday (25), the cold front advances over the coast of the state and changes the weather in the capital once and for all. The winds are now blowing from the southern quadrant, which, according to the CGE, will help lower temperatures and increase air humidity. The forecast is for a maximum of 25°C and a minimum of 17°C, which should be recorded at night.
As the agency reported, there is no forecast of significant rain. The change in weather should only cause a drizzle on Friday night in São Paulo.
The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock issued an alert of potential danger for temperature decline for some areas of the state of São Paulo.
As of 4 pm this Thursday, the agency predicts that thermometers should register a drop of 3 °C to 5 °C in Itapetininga, on the south coast, in the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo, in the Macro Metropolitan Region (in cities such as Jundiaí, Sorocaba and Bragança Paulista) and in the Paraíba Valley. See the map above.
The Inmet alert is expected to end at 9 am on Friday. The institute asks people to contact the Civil Defense (phone 199) in case of emergency or doubt.
