A man crashed his car into a pump at a gas station and then set fire to the place during the early hours of this Tuesday (19) in Vila Guilherme, North Zone of the capital of São Paulo.
According to the state's Military Fire Department, the call was received at 2:37 am. Around four corporation vehicles were moved to the station in an attempt to contain the flames.
The fire reached the suspect's vehicle and the structure of the gas station. No one was injured and the fire was later contained by crews.
In a statement, the Public Security Secretariat of the state of São Paulo reported that an employee who was inside the convenience store witnessed the entire incident.
According to him, after the suspect collided with one of the bombs, he got out of the car and purposely set fire to the establishment. The driver then fled the scene on a motorcycle.
The case was registered as fire and location/seizure of vehicle and object in the 13th Police District – Casa Verde. So far, the suspect who caused the fire has not been located.
