One 4-year-old child was tied to a chair inside a daycare center in Itaquaquecetuba (SP) by a teacher. A security camera captured the moment.
The child’s mother, who received the images, reported what happened and stated that her son suffered mistreatment by his “aunt” on October 21st, but that she only found out about the incident last Tuesday (26th).
According to a complaint from Tainara Azevedo Lima, the child’s mother, she received an anonymous video on her Instagram, which showed her son being tied to a chair. When she confronted the daycare management, she was informed that there was no footage of what happened. However, the video she had received clearly showed the child being tied up. See below:
Tainara revealed that in the anonymous message she received, the person reported that the “aunt from the daycare center” tied her son to a chair and screamed at him, then left him alone for a while.
THE CNN had access to the incident report, which shows that the teacher responsible for the student took him to the nursery to be in the “cauldron” (for punishment), and there another teacher tied the child to the chair, as a way of correcting him when he became agitated .
Tainara stated that before she found out what happened, her son was crying a lot and said he didn’t want to go to daycare, he was very shaken. Now she will seek psychological treatment for her son with the help of the Guardianship Council.
The Civil Police opened an investigation to investigate the case. The police authority stressed that details will be preserved as it is a case involving a minor.
In a statement, the daycare center informed that it became aware of the former employee’s inappropriate conduct and that she was fired for just cause. The institution highlighted its commitment to the safety and well-being of students and stated that it is cooperating with the investigations.
