Last Thursday night (15), the Military Police seized 69 cars and three motorcycles in an operation that monitored a “crack” point on Marginal Pinheiros, in the south zone of São Paulo. Competitive events are organized by influencers in closed groups on social media, according to the PM.
In addition, the 72 drivers who were at the scene were fined. A 38-year-old man was arrested red-handed after presenting a false driver's license.
According to the São Paulo Public Security Secretariat (SSP), the man was taken to the 89th DP, where the case was registered as forgery of a public document and use of a false document.
In a statement, the corporation stated that the objective of the action was to prevent the occurrence of unauthorized events involving risky competitions between vehicles on public roads in the metropolitan region.
“The objective of the Military Police is to prevent the demonstration and display of expertise in vehicle maneuvers on public roads, generally organized by digital influencers.”
The Megaoperation is part of a set of inspection and traffic education actions that are being developed by the Traffic Policing Command, to reduce the incidence of traffic violations.
The action was attended by more than 40 police officers.
