Two people died after being run over in the early hours of this Wednesday (29), on Rodovia Anchieta, in the kilometer 22 section, towards the coast of São Paulo. The accident happened near São Bernardo do Campo, in the metropolitan region of the capital.
According to the Highway Police and Ecovias, the concessionaire responsible for managing the road, the first victim, without identification, was run over by a Ford Fiesta that was passing through the area, and a short time later, a GM Corsa and a Volvo model NH 12380 they even went over the body.
The Volvo driver, upon getting out of the truck, was run over by the driver of another Iveco Stralis vehicle, who, in turn, claimed to have lost control after being closed in by a truck and a car, which were not identified.
The Highway Police states that the driver of the car claimed that because it was on a curve and in low light, he was unable to see the individual, which would have caused the collision.
The two drivers stopped on the side of the road to check the situation, when a second truck was blocked by another, and one of them ended up running over one of the drivers who was on the sides of the highway.
Around four people who were also involved in the accidents were uninjured and unharmed. Videos posted on social media show vehicles crossing the highway. See below:
In a statement, Ecovias also stated that traffic remains blocked on the central lane and diverted to the marginal lane.
The incident was forwarded to the 3rd DP of São Bernardo do Campo, where the responsible delegate considered the case to be manslaughter and the drivers were released.
