The city of São Paulo begins the vaccination against Covid-19 of children aged 3 to 4 years with comorbidities, disabilities or indigenous people from this Wednesday (20).
The information was released by Mayor Ricardo Nunes and the Municipal Health Department. According to the secretariat, the estimated audience is around 15,000 children.
According to the mayor, more than 300,000 children in this age group are eligible for vaccination. However, the city has 150,000 doses available in stock. Therefore, at this time it is not possible to start immunization of the general population in this age group.
“Here in São Paulo, when we started vaccinating, the adhesion was great, different from other cities”, says the mayor.
In order for the child to receive the vaccine, those responsible must present an identification document (preferably with CPF) of the minor.
In order to prove health conditions, it is necessary to present proof of risk condition, such as prescriptions or physical or digital reports, as long as there is patient identification, CRM with the doctor’s stamp and validity of two years of issuance.

From this Wednesday, children aged 3 and 4 years without comorbidities or disabilities can be enrolled in Basic Health Units (UBSs) to receive remaining doses.
Enrollment can be done at a unit close to the residence or school, and those responsible must present documentation with address and telephone number for convening.
At least 11 capitals have started vaccinating children three years and older against Covid-19: Rio de Janeiro, Fortaleza, Boa Vista, Manaus, Belém, Salvador, São Luís, Florianópolis, Natal, Campo Grande and Vitória.
According to Nunes, there is no forecast for the arrival of new doses. The prefecture called the state government, which informed that it awaits the return of the Ministry of Health.
