SP: Vila Sônia station starts full-time operation this Tuesday (10)

The Vila Sõnia station, on Line 4 – Yellow of the São Paulo Metro, will start working full-time, from 4:40 am to midnight, starting this Tuesday (10).

On the same date, a free bus will also run between the terminal and Taboão da Serra. The three-kilometer route will be carried out by nine articulated buses.

The information was confirmed by the state governor, Rodrigo Garcia (PSDB), this Monday (9).

Thus, the Linha Amarela will be able to carry out its complete route, from Luz to Vila Sõnia, during working days, in addition to weekends and holidays. Until this Monday, Vila Sônia was only open for three hours a day, between 10 am and 1 pm, and only on weekdays.

Garcia also authorized the start of studies for the extension of the Yellow Line, with two new stations: Dumont Villares (formerly Chácara do Jockey) and Taboão da Serra.

Vila Sõnia station was opened in December 2021, seven years after the initially promised deadline.
