SpaceX and NASA try to launch astronauts to the International Space Station this Friday (25); know how to watch

The joint mission between NASA and SpaceX to launch astronauts to the International Space Station is ready, according to the American space agency published on social networks this Thursday morning (24), after a review of launch preparations.

Called Crew-7, the mission will take off from the Kennedy Space Center, at 3:50 am (Brasília time) on Friday (25), in Florida. She is part of NASA’s commercial crew program that pays private companies to fly astronauts to the station.

SpaceX broadcasts the launch live from 3:45 am, Brasilia time — see below .

“Operations teams have not identified any significant issues with the Falcon 9 or the Dragon spacecraft. NASA and SpaceX spent Wednesday working on final launch preparations, with the remaining work expected to be completed prior to launch.”

Launch weather looks good, with the US Space Force predicting a 90% chance of favorable conditions.

The mission crew includes NASA astronaut Jasmin Moghbeli, European Space Agency astronaut Andreas Mogensen, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency astronaut Satoshi Furukawa and Roscosmos cosmonaut Konstantin Borisov.

If the launch goes as planned, SpaceX’s Dragon capsule, called Endurance, will dock with the space station after about 23 hours, and remain there for a six-month mission.

If the launch is delayed, NASA and SpaceX can try again on Saturday (26) at 3:27 am (local time) or on Sunday (27) at 3:04 am (local time).
