SpaceX launches Starship, the world’s most powerful rocket, but loses contact with the ship

SpaceX launched, this Saturday (18), the most powerful rocket in the world, but a failure caused engineers to lose contact with the ship in space.

Starship left Elon Musk’s company base, in Boca Chica, Texas, at around 10 am (Brasília time). The flight was initially successful, as the rocket managed to reach space for the first time.

However, about 10 minutes after launch, the SpaceX team on the ground stopped receiving data from the ship’s second stage.

Engineers believe the module was lost in space. The first test, in April, also had problems, ending in an explosion.

The Starship, almost 120 meters tall, was built with the aim of one day taking astronauts to the Moon via NASA, and, if everything goes well, sending humans to Mars, which is not yet expected to happen.
