SpaceX rocket launch with Crew Dragon spacecraft, which will deliver the next crew to the ISS, postponed

The next launch window of the SpaceX Falcon 9 launch vehicle with the Crew Dragon spacecraft, which is to deliver a new crew to the International Space Station, has been postponed by at least two days. This means that the launch will take place no earlier than April 22.

SpaceX originally planned to launch the spacecraft into low-earth orbit at the end of March. But in January, NASA announced that the target date had been pushed back to April 20.

The date has again been adjusted for options to minimize the need to shift astronauts’ sleep periods, according to a NASA spokesman.

This will be the second operational flight of the Crew Dragon to replace the ISS crew. The crew consists of four people. After docking with the space station, they will join the four astronauts who arrived at the ISS aboard the Crew Dragon in November and the cosmonauts brought to the orbital station aboard the Soyuz MS-18 spacecraft.

The newly arrived crew will remain in orbit for six months, while the previous crew is expected to return to Earth by early May.
