Spain adds 44,436 unemployed in February and exceeds four million unemployed for the first time since 2016

The The Spanish Ministry of Labor and Social Economy has revealed today that 44,436 people became unemployed last February, with which the total number of unemployed amounts to 4,008,789 people. The data represents + 1.12% unemployment compared to January and + 23.4% year-on-year. It is the first time since 2016 that Spain exceeds four million unemployed.

About the number of affiliated with Social Security, the figure stood at 18,850,112 after 20,632 jobs were created during February.

In addition, the Ministry confirms that about 900,000 workers under ERTE (File of Temporary Employment Regulation).
