The Spanish government has approved a plan to allocate 800 million euros until 2023 to stimulate sales of electric vehicles. This was announced today by the Spanish Ministry of Energy.
Private buyers will be eligible for a subsidy of up to € 7,000 per car, while small town governments and companies buying electric vehicles for use as taxis can expect large sums. Buyers of electric vans will receive up to € 9,000. The ministry informed that the program will start operating tomorrow.
Earlier this year, the Spanish government announced plans to promote domestic production of battery electric vehicles and batteries.
